Ruby is a part of the 'Jewels' story arc along with Garnet and Pearl.
Like all SD16 girls so far, Ruby comes with both high heeled legs and optional normal legs with ankle joints that can be easily switched.
Ruby is the first Volks doll ever to be released in the 'Ebony' skintone, which is darker than their 'Sunlight' skintone. The only other doll with this skintone is Irvin, also a US-only release.
Garnet and Ruby did not originally sell out at the LA Dolpa event in 2007, and were rereleased for the Dolpa in VolksUSA Website event in 2008.
