Ria is meant to be Rio's sister, and her headmold is said to be based on Rio's. Her overall design and clothing design were done by the same person who designed Rio.
Ria was one of the first SD girls released in pureskin, along with Anais. She came with the first version of the pureskin body, which had some issues with standing and had rather unattractive knees. This body has since been changed and the version Ria came with is now obsolete.
