Since I was restringing and recoating Zuzu's body anyway, I decided to give her some 'tattoos' that I'd been considering for a while. These photos document the process - please, if you are offended by bare resin breasts, go no further!
After coating the torso piece once with Mr Super Clear (a matte varnish, intended for use on resin) I drew in the swallows freehand, with a peachy coloured pencil. It was easy to correct mistakes - I just had to tap an eraser on the offending area. When I was happy with the shape, I erased almost all the coloured pencil markings, leaving a faint outline behind. I traced this with a normal pencil, and sprayed the torso once more with Mr Super Clear.
I took the opportunity to lightly 'blush' her nipples. :)
The final stage was adding colour - I used watercolour pencils for this, although I used them dry, without adding water. It was simply a case of adding light shading to the swallows. I also went over the outline in a black watercolour pencil, to strengthen it. A few more coats of MSC to seal it, and the tattoos were complete!
